Pancake Friday: Just-in-Time Breakfast, Delivered in the Flow of Work
We swapped the Friday standup for a griddle, a bowl of buttermilk batter and a lot of syrup. Here’s what a stack of pancakes taught us about enablement.

We swapped the Friday standup for a griddle, a bowl of buttermilk batter and a lot of syrup. Here’s what a stack of pancakes taught us about enablement.

Every great process starts with the right ingredients in the right place. On Friday that meant flour, buttermilk, blueberries and a griddle set up right between the desks, so nobody had to leave their workflow to get breakfast. The batter got mixed once, and every pancake came out consistent. Sound familiar?
It turns out pancakes follow the same rules as good enablement. Timing matters: flip too early and you get a mess, flip too late and nobody wants it. The team learned to watch for the bubbles, the same way reps watch for buying signals. And when someone asked how much syrup was too much, the answer arrived exactly when they needed it, right at the plate.
The verdict: four stacks served, zero support tickets, and one strong case for making Pancake Friday a recurring program. Next time we’re adding chocolate chips and a Learning Path for perfect flipping technique.
